Hi guys
Hopefully someone can help. I updated my TomTom Iphone 5S app from 1.23 to the latest version 1.27 via Itunes, but my traffic subscription will not work. It spins endlessly.
That was most annoying on my 100 mile commute this morning when I hit congestion... I tried all morning to get it to update but it wont. Not even on the office wifi
I deleted the App and went back to version 1.23. The traffic logged on straight away. I updated the app to 1.27 again and now the traffic will not update again. It cycles endlessly trying...
So I have lost all my favourites and travel history (not a major issue but damned annoying) for no progress. Are there any other problems out there or any solutions please ?
I really do not want to go to the TomTom Go version yet. I just want traffic on my current device to work :-)

Hi all,

We are very sorry that the TomTom Traffic and Speed Cameras services in our old app were not working after you updated to the latest version. We have released an app update (v1.27.1) that fixes the problem and you will receive automatically compensation for the time that services were not available.

We apologise for the inconvenience!

    I've had this same problem over the last few days. Attempted fixes includes restore traffic subscription and deleting and installing app. My mistake after re-installing app was to allow it to update. Now I've re-installed from iTunes and not allowed the update, restored the traffic sub, and it's working again.

    Even on version 1.23 I could not get any traffic info on Friday. I just got the spiral of death .......

    I was most peed off to end up stuck in 2 hours of traffic on the M1 on Friday afternoon I had the potential to avoid....

    What on earth is going on lately ?

    v1.20 still working fine with Traffic today.

    However, just noticed that TomTom places is no longer working when finding a location, but Facebook places still work fine. I'm wondering if this uses a similar comminication method as Traffic?, of course TomTom places simply might not work in v1.20...

    Also having problem, Restore doesn't help.. Iphone App v1.27

    I posted on a similar forum wo days ago and but still no improvement in traffic on the iPhone at tom-tom Western Europe navigation app. Using iOS 10.3.1 and recently updated to tom-tom version 1.27. I hope this issue is resolved soon and that the traffic subscription for the last month is refunded by tom-tom soon. There has been no communication from Tom Tom about this apart from in this and similar forums.

    Hi Mikkok,
    maybe a stupid suggestion, but this problem sits here for a week,
    people are getting pissed
    Why not recompile the previous version with e new latest number and feed that to the app store until you have solved this problem
    I see all people do the same but on the hardway and loosing there settings to by uninstalling

    p.s.
    installing Go on the iPhone 6S is also a thing, it does not work, hangs in internet problem
    never leave without navigation

    You can request a refund for traffic via iTunes - there is a link on the invoice for 'Report a problem' or you can google 'Apple report a problem' - log in with your iTunes account and locate the TomTom transaction. There's a link to request refund,

    I've downloaded v1.27.1 and it looks like traffic is working again.

    How will we receive the compensation as mentioned?

    Still doesn't fix my traffic problems... (I switched from UK to US traffic subscription a while back, a way earlier update started issues)

    BUT I have a workaround that works for me. Firstly, traffic would only work on while connected to a wifi network (despite cellular being enabled) and this kind of threw me as there is no problem with the LTE connection I have. While playing around one frustrating day where I couldn't find any hotspots to hook up to before a journey, I switched on VPN back to the UK and... magically I could get traffic while mobile again.

    Worth trying if you have the same issues I still have with the new update.

    I own TomTom US and Canada as well as TomTom Europe. For the past 3 months Traffic has not worked when not in WIFI network. It works when I am sitting at home using WIFI, but as soon as I am on the road it does not work. I have re-installed both apps and turned various settings on and off, all to no avail. Any suggestions. Will I be reimbursed for the past 3 months? Thanks in advance.

    Do you have a VPN installed, see my comment above - works for me when connected over cellular when VPN is running.

    Yes, I saw your comment. I will give that a try next time I leave the house. Sounds a tad strange, but it may have something to do with the fact that I use both the US and the German app-stores.

    It was an accidental discovery, happened to leave the VPN on while starting the app... sounds like our situations are very similar with the split US and European versions. (saved my life in Houston the other week, GO really struggled with traffic re-routing during some bad weather)
