Hi all,

We've just released a new v1.10 of the GO Mobile for iPhone and it's available for download in the Apple AppStore.

What’s New in v1.10

  • Share arrival time: Tap on the estimated time of arrival to share it with your contacts using the messaging app of your choice.
  • Avoid Part of your Route: In the Current Route menu, you can select a specific section of your route to avoid.
  • Avoid a Roadblock: Select Avoid Blocked Road in the Current Route menu to find an alternative route or tap the current location symbol.
  • MyDrive: Sync your favourite places so they are accessible across all of your TomTom navigation devices.
  • Optimised for iPhone X.

Drive safe!

Cheers, lampard

Hi lampard

So the lag hasn’t been fixed then??!

And ”drive safe!” is the TomTom sign off....you couldn’t make it up. 🤦‍♂️

I dont see the update in the appstore (dutch)

besides that the latest version in the appstore is 1.9.2. So did you guys downgrade the version-number ?

because you write version v1.10 is out or do you mean v1.20 ?

Hi all

The new app has been released but it may take up to 24 hours for it to be available for download.

The announcement was a bit early but I assure you that the app will be available for download soon..

Thank you and regards,
Vikram
Not in my appstore (the Netherlands) yet. Great that it is possible to sync favorite places with MyDrive, but what I am really waiting for is the syncing routes. Any chance we will get this too?

I just updated from the danish app store.

1.10 is a larger number than 1.9...

They fixed the contacts issues even though it's not listed.
Downloading now from the Dutch app store. (pull down to refresh)
I'd like to be able to turn off auto zoom on junctions. I like to have the same zoomlevel at all times.

I now sometimes miss the turn because (looking at a glance) I got the impression the turn was further away, when in fact it was zoomed in.

On the other hand I do like the auto zoom function depending on the speed of driving.

I'm getting used to the new app, but there's still a lot of functions missing from the old one. Just to name a few: Map Share, routeplanning in the future, looking for PoI ona certain area on the map (parking near detination), the route overview is very unclear, ...
Good evening,
So that took such an update for a long time.
I still miss old features calendar link, Map share and play voice on bluetooth.

How long do you need time to solve this?
Because I read on your forum that you are fixing this for 1 year ago.

How come the dangerous Lag is still in the app

When approaching intersections, roundabouts etc. There is always the lag!

Reinstalled the app but the lag is still there

When wil tomtom fix this problem ?

@lampard

Although My Places-Favourites are synced with the newly released Go Mobile App for IOS (v1.1); POI files are not.................. ☻

Maybe it will be incorporated in the next update???

(Whereas the Android App version does sync both POI and My places. )
It's good that you finally managed to add MyDrive in the iPhone app.

Now if only you could add Bluetooth / carkit support like Here and Google Maps have done it.

They "fake" an incoming call to interrupt the car radio so you can hear the navigation audio, which is otherwise blocked (unless you of course switch to BT audio full time).

And yes the lag is annoying specially at roundabouts.

The long (2 years) wait for MyDrive is useless without the ability to sync the .ov2 POI files.

When will TomTom fix it so that .ov2 POI files can be sent to the TomTom GO Mobile iOS app?

So if we set a side the ridiculously long wait for this update...

On the positive side the added features are very welcome - avoid part of route and avoid roadblock are absolute essentials in a SatNav app for me and should have been there from the start (or at least the old app should not have been deprecated until all these features were available in the new one)

Finally, My Drive works (I only use favourites so the POI files thing isn't an issue for me personally). Also the iPhone X conversion is actually very nice.

However... The lag, THE LAG, is still NO BETTER. It's still annoying at best and dangerous at worst.

The problem now of course is that the good bits of the app are even better so the pressure to fix the lag / zoom issue will be even less.

The LAG does need to be fixed.

MyDrive is: ... drivers can use their smartphone, tablet or PC to review real-time traffic information, plan routes, and send destinations to their TomTom GO, before they get in the car.

I just use the GO Mobile app itself to choose a destination and plan a route. For me the whole point of MyDrive is to achieve something new on iOS GO Mobile, and that is to use .ov2 POIs - we've had to wait long enough for it (2 years for GO Mobile) but what's worse is that TomTom products over 10 years ago were able to utilise .ov2 POI files.

The .ov2 POI file format is TomTom's own proprietary file format and it is inexcusable that current TomTom products cannot use it when 10 years ago TomTom products could utilise .ov2 files. This is not progress!

I need to use my own custom POIs. TomTom built in POIs are not accurate enough for me. Plus TomTom doesn't have my friends, family, nor my holiday locations.

You can allegedly submit Poi updates via TomTom's MapShare, however as none of my own submissions to TomTom's MapShare have ever been accepted, I have no proof that TomTom's MapShare even works, therefore I will not waste my time by submitting any further submissions to MapShare

Regards,
Robert.
Good to see the update. One fix that doesn’t seem mentioned is that searching in Contacts is way quicker than before.
Syncing locations through MyDrive is welcome but doesn’t yet offer routes unless I’m missing something.

Unfortunately the lag mentioned above is still present.
After all the wait, pois do not work!! Well done Mr Tomtom!! 😞

So when will MyDrive on TomTom GO Mobile iOS be able to sync POIs?

Regards,
You have to fix this lag, it’s actually making the app unsuable... back to Apple maps until it’s fixed....

Great to finally see some useful features(only waited two years) but oh my god the lag is horrendous. Really threw me a couple of times today. What is their problem with fixing it, I really don’t understand
What I don't understand: I can go to MyDrive on my web browser, and select a road trip, and then save it in MyRoutes. But where does it appear in my iOS TomTomGO app? I would really love to drive all these road trips!
I CAN see it in MyDrive iOS app, but from there I can't select the TomTomGO app...

Am I doing something wrong or is there just no feature in Go?
