I bought Tomtom in google play store for my HTC incredible. It's working fine with two exceptions. I bought the add ons for hr traffic and speed camera's. In my services it says I've successfully purchased but says pending activation. I've not received any emails other than Google's confirmation of purchase. Who do I activate the services? It's really not clear.

Could the reason that You're not seing speedcams as an option that the country You reside in, do not allow it?

In some countries it is illegal, but in other countries it is almost encouraged. In Sweden You can look up the location of the fixed speedcams on a official homepage. In Denmark the police has previously encouraged the usage of SMS-chains in alerting the presence of their mobile speedcams.

Speed cameras is not supported in Australia which is where it looks like you are from. It could be local laws preventing the use or another reason.

I have the this issue (bought services today) and it lookslike TomTom are an appalling company that is taking us for mugs as they have not resolved this or pulled the plug on offering it even though it can't be used.

Rimisaso I suggest that You contact TomTom support with a question why You can't buy this added service.

mbookham, I don't know Your case, but if You haven't tried to contact TomTom support then I suggest You do that immediately. If You look to several of the previous posts on this thread then You will find a method that works in getting this issue resolved quickly.
The issue here is not all TomTom's fault. I work as an IT-professional and I can tell You that integrating systems (Google-Play and TomTom's) is not an easy task, and mistakes will happen, but thats what support is for, they can help with such issues - and they do!

Hope everything gets resolved for You

Hold your horses ans read what I said. I said there may be local laws preventing it, but I didn't say that was the only possible reason, I said there may be another reason.
When I look at the speed camera package, it mentions many countries but not Australia.

It may simply be that they have not developed it for android yet. Is contact TomTom via the help pages on the web page.

As has been said, there are some hitches, but nothing development can't fix. Last time I looked, the TomTom app was on version 1 so its doing pretty well of say as when you look at all your other apps, they will have had multiple updates to fix bugs and faults.

At least TomTom are now aware of the fault and there development team will no doubt be on the case. It's not as easy as just applying a fix, it has to be tested properly and then you can find the fix can cause new problems.

I'm sure it will get sorted and in the mean time, customer support seem to be doing a great job at dealing with individual cases. Mine is in the process of being looked at.

Well, pleased to say that I sent an email 2 days ago about the problem, got a reply the next day requesting proof of purchase. Sent it off and no reply last night when I got home so phoned up and they activated traffic and cameras there and then. Unfortunately, big problems with o2 and vodaphone last night. Live services are sent through vodaphone and there was a big outage so couldn't connect. Tried this morning and my services are active but so far says no connection, I'm guessing there are still outage issues with vodaphone. Just pleased to have it working now though. UK customer support were very helpful.

Good to hear that things are starting to work for You too.

My first experiences with TomTom HD here in Denmark are unfortunately not encouraging. It seems that its only relaying the traffic-information from the danish authorities regarding road-traffic - and they are notoriously bad! Reporting roadworks where there aren't any - and hasn't been for 6 months!

I just wish that MapShare would be available to fix some of these issues. But atleast it's working and thats a big step forward.

    Hello all,

First of all, apologies to those of you who encountered this issue.  We have identified the cause of the issue and resolved it - nobody purchasing one of our services now should experience this.

If anyone still has the issue from before it was fixed, there is a simple way to fix it - download an app from the Play store (any app).  This will trigger the missing data for the TomTom service to be sent as well.

    Thanks,

    Kenneth

I've got cameras working now and hd traffic is an active subscription, but it constantly says 'no connection' when you plan a route. I was told it was an outage problem on Friday by UK customer services but its not been working all today or the weekend. Effectively I have hd traffic, but it doesn't work.

I've downloaded apps from google play this weekend.

Another call to UK customer services?

Right after your message my live services started to work on 3g, and yesterday i used it all day without a hitch.

But sadly today i got the same exact problem, my services would not open on 3g.

i downloaded a app but sadly this did not help, then i bite the bullet to test as i really needed the service this morning and purchased a month subscription, which i could do but right after this i got a message (translated) no connection to my services and the purchase dissapeared.

So sadly again my live services do not work anymore on 3g.

I have to say this is getting really frustrating.

Did you switch from wifi to 3g?

The app will not connect to HD traffic after a switchover (it's a bug).  You have to close/reopen the app after the 3g switchover to connect.

I have wifi in my house, and it reaches my driveway.  So every day I have to close/reopen the app once I drive out of range of my home wifi.  (same thing happens when leaving my work, and when leaving many stores that have wifi in my city).

It is the most annoying bug in this new app for me, and I hope they fix it in V1.1.

Edit: this was fixed in app 1.0.1

TomTom for Android does not have built in safety cameras at all, and the premium service is currently only available in European countries.
