Bandit Studio stale?

Has the Bandit Studio development been halted/paused? There hasn't been a new version out for quite some time. Same goes for the camera firmware, actually.

I have had my Bandit camera for over a year and my gut feeling is that TomTom have abandoned the camera and software that goes with it. Its a pity because i love the camera. I was in the market to buy a second camera and ended up buying the GoPro Hero 5, mainly because there was better back up and continued software and firmware updates plus the continued development of the camera which i find is a fantastic product. I am very angry of these companies that launch a new product that in theory and practice looks great and then they leave you high and dry without any development for their product. They are happy to take your money without any explanation as to why they have abandoned you. I am now buying most accessories for my GoProHero 5, at least i know that they will be around for a while with their cameras. Shame Tom Tom Shame.
just got my Tomtom Bandit and it works great, if only the gauges in the Studio where more professional looking and we had more choice...
I need height in Feet, Speed in Knots, Distance in Miles... Normal flying units, would be gound if we could output the air pressure to mb...

I'm using DashWare now but you have to export the gps data and import it as it doesn't read Tomtom's version Contour! also its very slow to render the video.

I think you may be right. It seems abandoned 😞
As someone who has just purchased a Bandit and the fact that TomTom are still selling the Bandit I truly hope this is not the case!

Maybe someone from TomTom will comment on what their plans are for the camera and the "beta" desktop software too, or do they not participate in their own forums?

Hi All,

The product team is working on improving the existing features.Unfortunately, at this point I have no further information as to when the new Bandit Studio update will become available. For any further updates on the announcements, please keep visiting the Bandit Studio forum.

Thanks,
lampard
Thank you for the update. I really like the Bandit so I would hate to go looking for another camera just because the software is not being updated/maintained/bugfixed.

Really...no plan, no information at all? What development programme are you guys working to? Surely you have some form of development plan set up. Surely there are release schedules built up within these programmes. Are we to conclude from this that Tom Tom is pulling its support and development from its action camera product?
we hope to see the update as soon as possible... please give us what you have done and dont wait to finish all..
I'm afraid that TOmTOm has said goodbye to our cameras and pulled the plug. I have had my camera for nearly 2 years and in that time i have had 2 updates, but the last one was ages ago. Plus the Bandit software has been in Beta mode since i have had my camera with little progress. This has forced me to turn to the dark side and i bought a Go Pro Hero5 and i have had that for 2 months and in that time there has been 2 updates and more coming, plus their software is way, way better than tomtom's. I am now looking to purchase a third camera and at this stage i'm looking at the Sony FDR3000 action camera which has the best stabilization in any action camera on the market. I do a lot motorcycle riding and this unit looks great, plus the software is good too.
Like I said before, TomTom has released this great little camera and has done sweet F/A since. While its competitors have progressed TomTom has gone to sleep and not worried about its customers. Its a shame, but i have learnt one lesson from this, If you want something, stick with the reliable brands that specialise in what you want. That way you know your product will have support.
I think I now know why the update frequency has been low...they are busy doing something completely different (at least, I hope so):

Looks exciting.
Hi MHolm
Yes it does look exciting, but this has already been done by one of our own guys on the forum Greg Trainor from Australia. Take a look at his youtube site and you will see what i mean. He uses Google maps and the data thats in the Tomtom Bandit files to map it out. Its very good.
This is the link to the video

I just want Tomtom to show more support to its followers of the Bandit and to update the camera and features more frequently
