Hi feijo,

Welcome to the Forum:)

The Bandit Studio is in its final testing phase and not yet released on our website.

But there will be an official announcement once the software is offered for a download to all our customers.

Unfortunately I will not be able to confirm on a specific date.

Please keep visiting the forum. Your patience will be appreciated.

Cheers,
Vikram

I should hopefully get an update on where we currently are with the release later today, unfortunately there were some last minute things we need to do before we can release the TomTom Bandit Studio which have caused a small delay.
Hi Chris, any news on the Bandit Studio yet?

Hi All,

We are going to try for a release of the TomTom Bandit Studio on Friday around midday!
As mentioned in my original post above we are going to initially release the TomTom Bandit Studio as a Beta, so we are looking for your feedback in helping us improve the Studio.

When the TomTom Bandit Studio Beta is available we will open up a separate board here on the forum where you can post your feedback.
The feedback can include anything such as what you like/don't like, what other features you would like to see and what issues you have experienced in using the TomTom Bandit Studio Beta.

When the TomTom Bandit Studio Beta is available to download I will update here and provide a link to the new board.

Looking forward to seeing the software. Hoping it is as full featured as GoPro Studio.

My current workflow using Sony Movie Studio 12 cannot handle 2.7k files so am looking to upgrade.

Anyone know the best stabilizing software they could use with these files?

I really enjoyed using the Bandit last week on a trip to Fiji. Lots of snorkelling done and really enjoyed the quality of the clips in 2.7k on our TV at home. Got lots of oohs and ahhs! I am really keen to see what features the software will have.

It is a disappointment to learn that the software is still not released. Only one day to go to see what TomTom can do!

Hi Slug69, you can already view here more information on how to use the TomTom Bandit Studio and see what it can do:
http://download.tomtom.com/open/manuals/bandit/html/en-gb/index.htm#BanditStudio-Camera.htm

The TomTom Bandit Studio supports 2.7k and 4k video.

Hi Chris, thanks for the prompt response.

In the settings it doesn't specify the format or settings that the Studio Software can render or finalize at. This would be handy to know.

It would be good to see the software have a utility that can very cleanly convert the TomTom files into popular formats so other software can edit nicely.

As it is, your established competitor's software can convert your files nicely but you don't have the trimming functionality until the editing stage which is a bit inconvenient.

Things that are great about the TomTom Bandit, especially when travelling, is the batt stick. GoPro users eyes pop out of their heads when they see the ease of use to charge and to pull data out without any cables etc. Seriously useful for travellers. Not to mention the sensational battery life afforded by this method. Having a second batt stick on hand means you can keep up with any challenges thrown at you.

I hope the market understands your little gizmo better. Need to see some more work arounds with workflow for this device.

Sounds great Chris thanks for the update and hope it stays on track for expected release time!

Have read through manual and I can't wait to finally be able to use this camera's footage the way it should have since the start!

It works ok. It makes a nice big clean MP4 (1:30 was approx. 448MB - it was a 2.7k video) file that YouTube can use. I will need to upgrade my current Sony Platinum Studio Software to a later version that can handle 2.7k res files so I can do more fine editing functions.

Windows users will have to power on through the warning messages when installing the software and use Admin privileges and the "Run Anyway" command to get it to run. (I am a WIN10 user)

The methodology is similar to the Mobile apps. Add highlights!
Chris what version of Mac software do i need to load the Bandit Studio
I am still running Snow Leopard and I am getting this message.
"Your operating system does not support the application"
When i try to open it.
I can't download either on Windows surface, get an error "certificate out of date". Might not be able to use on the surface anyway as it is not the full windows but RT windows.

We have an FAQ that lists the minimum system requirements here, for Mac we recommend OS X Lion and up: http://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/21313/~/tomtom-bandit-studio-system-requirements
