I'm thinking of upgrading to the explorer but was disappointed to see the altimeter is not available in biking mode. Im mainly using my multisport for mountain biking so this feature would be really useful. Any ways around this constraint??

Do you mean the Adventurer (there is no watch called the Explorer)? The altimeter is available in all modes on the Adventurer, including cycling.

I hope this helped answer your question. If so, please mark it as a solution so others can look for it if they have the same question.

I think he means that the watch does not display current altitude - it displays meters climbed but not your current elevation. I would also like to see this feature added, after all it is available in trail running so it should be able to be done.

I am not sure why it is available in trail running and not in cycling. That would eliminate a technical reason for it, they probably just figured actual elevation is not a metric cyclist would care as much about. It would be a good addition but TomTom will not comment on planned or future updates publicly (here or elsewhere) so we will just have to wait and see.
