Is there any thought or a know way to letting you do a manual lap in the auto-lap mode? IE, I go out and do a training run and do a 5 minute warm up walk of about .25 miles... hit lap, run 6 miles letting auto lap capture each mile automatically. That way when I look at my run on the computer, I see lap 1 being the .25 mile warm up and then lap 2-7 being each of those auto calculated miles.
What I'd like to see the auto lapping for each miles, but gives me the option of doing a manual lap too... as of now, manual lap only works if you have it in manual lap mode...
Unfortunately, splits ignores any "laps" you create. If you set the splits to each mile, it starts from the moment you press start... so in my case, I would get a split at the 1 mile mark inclusive of the .25 manual lap (which is .75 miles into my 1st mile of the workout). The only way I have found that I can get it to somewhat accomplish is to start a brand new auto lap activity (or manual laps with splits enabled to 1 mile) after the .25 warm up. I therefore get 2 activity workouts in my web based workout logs.
I'm not sure why TomTom feels the only need for manual lap is if you have it in manual lap mode... but I guess there is some sort of reasoning behind it. I will say, every other watch I have ever used doesn't work this way... so it is a bit of an adjustment.
