I have a TomTom Runner3 and sync it with the TrainingPeaks App.
Under the Training function (that I setup) eg:-> Intervals - Workout (eg: Warm-up 5min ; Work 2min ; Rest 2min; 7xSets; warm down 5min )

After completion of such a training session and I upload it to the TrainingPeaks app (which is linked to the tomtom app on my iphone), it reflects the whole session as 1 single lap.
What is should be doing is showing each interval (ie: 5min warm up; 2min 'work'; 3min Rest; etc etc) as a new lap in itself (so in the example above it should reflect as having completed 16 laps [1xwarmup; 1xwarmdown; 7xwork; 7xrest) .
This is how it reflects for my training partner who is using a Garmin 225.

Am I doing something wrong, or is it that TomTom Runner3 records the "Training" function when set-up and used as being only 1 single Lap for the whole session?
If I run in "Laps" mode then its fine, but one cannot run in Laps mode for Training sessions.
Thanks

    The issue is likely how TrainingPeaks is interpreting the data when it imports it. TT does show each interval as a separate lap on the MySports site so the data is parsed in this way. Since TrainingPeaks is only showing it as one lap they would appear to not be using the data in the same way. Whether this is due to how TT sends it to them or how they interpret it is unclear. You may want to start with contacting TrainingPeaks and see if they have any idea why they are not showing the intervals separately.

    I hope this helped answer your question. If so, please mark it as a solution so others can look for it if they have the same question.

    Thanks for your reply.
    I received a reply from TP - "TomTom are probably not be formatting their lap markers created in their workout mode to the .fit file standard, so they aren't showing up in TrainingPeaks"

    Interesting. Hopefully a developer can weigh in on it.

    Agreed cause TP say the only way around this is - "Use the "create laps" stuctured workout option in the web app, but make sure to delete any leftover laps after doing that."
    Which is a real pain to have to do every day for every training session.

    This.

    I'll raise an improvement against the exporters to see if this can be improved.

    Thanks,
    Stuart.
    I work for TomTom but the views expressed here are my own.
