Hello,

Would it be possible in the next version to have the ability to count the laps manually on the swimming mode?

Indeed, the swimming mode doesn't work all the time. It counts sometimes 4 more laps for example.

It could be very nice, as in the running mode, to touch the right button on the watch Multisport to define the end of a lap. So, there will be always the right number of laps thanks to the length of the swimming pool filled before.

Is it possible ?

Thank you

Hello tfarabaugh,

First, thank for your response. For the auto lap, I already tried it last month and it did not work better because, sometimes, the watch can vibrate in the middle of a length. Furthermore, the laps can only be filled in kilometers and not in meters. For my personal case, I swim in a 25 meters swimming pool so I must put 0,05 km.

A friend has got a more recent watch (I have the cardio multisport which dated since 2 years ago), and his watch works better. We think it is because there is tracking activity mode on the watch. Maybe, it is more sensitive.

Indeed, they say that you can't use buttons underwater but you could use it if you stop a very short time at each length.

To summarize, I have already tried all the advises of Tomtom to swim with the watch, and like many people, I feel very disapointed about the swim mode.

I hope that they will do this feature in the next release because lots of people ask for it.

Thank you

Laps mode is only down using the touchscreen the buttons are already used for other functions. Unfortunately the touchscreen doesn't work underwater so manual laps are not possible, What you can do is set an auto lap for the distance of the pool which should alert and record a lap for each length. This may help you get sort of what you want. They do monitor the forums and note these sort of requests, but TomTom will not comment on planned or future updates publicly (here or elsewhere) so we will just have to wait and see.

I imagine this is not what you were hoping to hear but let me know if this answered your question. If so, please mark it as a solution so other can look for it if they have the same question.

There is not likely going to be a next release for the MultiSport watches. The are 4 years and 4 generations old and are no longer being produced. Perhaps bug fixes for fatal issues, but I would not expect any more enhancements.
