Hi all,

We've just released a new software v17.202 for the Rider 4x/4x0 devices and it's available for download in MyDrive Connect.

What's new?

This is a maintenance release with some minor bug fixes and improvements.

Drive safe! :D

Cheers, Mikko

The "upgrade" deleted all maps and speed camera warnings on a rider 400. Took about an hour to get it all restored.

Hi guys, on a 450 it took 15 minutes, no issues at all.

Drum roll reboot, factory reset and then just set it up again. Looks like it's ready to go ... ;-)

    Have a nice one,

    Hi all,

If experience problems updating and you can't sort them out with this FAQ or you experience strange behaviour of your device after the update, I’d recommend you to set your device to recovery mode [support FAQ - Red X] to re-install the software. Please note, that this will delete your personal information, e.g. My Places and destination prediction data. You can save and restore My Places with MyDrive. The following video walks you through the recovery mode process:

Yes, this release was only for the latest Rider devices.

Trying the recover mode since the to 17.202 update the device keeps freezing if I try to change/cancel the route or change the destination mid route . Forced reboot is taking 5+ mins
Will advise it this cure the problem. Seems to have rebooted OK but was surprised to see all my routes are still there though it would clear them. Will see how it goes over the next couple of weeks.

    Hi
After executing the Recovery Mode and rolling back, the NAV4 NAV(5 Wifi) devices will offer the latest version over MyDriveConnect or Wifi... I guess you updated to the latest version then ???

No I had already updated to 17.202.16 once I don't think the roll back worked. Took its time to do nothing

After updating, I'm also having similar freezes/spontaneous reboots/black screens. Rebooting the device (drumroll reset) then takes ages (>8m).

Freeze of the day, this morning after riding about 10km towards my work the screen went dark. The route guidance stopped, the map did not move. After 15 minutes or so, I saw that there was movement again on the underlying map (under the dark layer), it was again following my position. All that time, the bluetooth connections were kept alive (headset + bt tethering to phone).
