Need to know which model gps you have. If you don't know the model number, you can provide the first two letters of the serial number we can determine the model #.

    Hi tambri822,

If you got a CD with your TomTom, it sounds like your device may use TomTom HOME. You can download and install it from this link:

    http://www.tomtom.com/home

However, like Traylaw said, please do let us know the first two characters of your serial number so we can double check that Home is the correct program for you. You can check here as to which software to use also.

Let us know if you have further questions!

    Thanks,

    Zoe

I uninstalled my TomTom 1 from my computer, and ever since then it just goes to the connection screen (on the TomTom itself), so i am trying to re-install it. Unfortuatally, I lost my cd for the installation and now my tomtom is connected to my computer, and is showing in the device manager, but neither "TomTom Home" or "My TomTom" can find the device or connect to it. I have rebooted the TomTom, unintalled both tomtom downloads and cleaned them out of my computer entirely, neither of them have been installed at the same time.  What else can i do to get my TomTom to connect?   I also tried different USB cables including the origional it came with...

    Thanks for your time

You gps model can only  use TomTom Home so no need to install myTomTom.  Is the version of TomTom Home the current version or did it come off the CD?  If you have not downloaded it recently I would suggest doing so.  Here is the link to the download.

When you connect your gps to the computer can you see the gps as a removable drive using Windows Explorer (My computer on the destop ). If you open the drive do you see a bunch of files and folders?

The TomTom HOME (or MyTomTom) apps are available online from TomTom.
I am NOT a TomTom employee, just a user like others. Report map errors at: http://www.tomtom.com/mapshare/tools/# ***One can report temporary road closures too via the MSR Tool now***
