Stuck on 'waiting for you device' for latest update

I actually have issues updating my device, almost every time there is an update. This has been the case for both TomToms, different PCs, Macs, etc. No matter what I do, updating the device is a nightmare. It is very frustrating and it's about time TomTom sorted out their software so it works. Although I've had a couple of TomToms, I will definitely not be buying another as I have not a lot to lose by trying another brand. I would never recommend a TomTom to anyone, purely based on the major issues with updating the device.



Tomtom MyDrive update has got to be the worst programme I have ever used. It keeps stalling during updates and gives no option to cancel. I like my Tomtom whilst driving, but that is as far as my satisfaction goes. Come Tomtom sort out this dreadful programme before we all switch to Garmin.
That worked for me - switching off and on. I also changed from a powered hub to a direct connect
To geoff_croxson, yes, and it is really slow as well. I think there server must be constrained, which adds to the unreliability
Same problem for me with my Go510, we have to put up with the ridiculous roundabout instructions and now it won't update just hangs Waiting For Your Device, yep so am I, tiresome junk that it is
Also stuck for 2 days now on 'Waiting for your device' while trying to do a 100 byte update?
I have: Cleared the cache
Restarted the PC
Restarted my GO 5000 by holding power button until drum roll.
Left it on overnight

Some attempts thwarted by busy servers.

Frustrated
Today mine has said "Waiting for your Device". !!!! I can't get it to update ! The very first thing "Mydrive did was to update "Mydrive" Could the update be the problem ? I've tried rebooting both the laptop and the device (Tomtom410) . I've not had this problem before. Fortunately, my device is currently still working.
