If MyDrive Connect crashes since the latest update, download and install version 4.2.0.3409 from the following link: http://sa.services.solaris.test.tomtom.com/static/sa/versions/InstallTomTomMyDriveConnect_4_2_0_3409.exe

If after starting MyDrive Connect the pages are not displayed correctly, exit the application its icon in the notification area at the bottom right of the screen. Once MyDrive Connect is no longer running, double-click the “V2 MyDrive Connect” short cut on your desktop.
The pages should now be displayed correctly.

If the issue persists, you can downgrade MyDrive Connect by installing version 4.1.8 from the following link: http://sa.services.solaris.test.tomtom.com/static/sa/versions/InstallMyDriveConnect_4_1_8_3408.exe

In the meantime we will continue to investigate on how to solve this issue.

Sorry Jurgen, I did not see your post.
However, when you posted your fix, I was already conversing with Tom Tom, and they were arranging the remote takeover of my computer to resolve this problem.
I just found it a bit upsetting that it took Tom Tom so long to offer this roll back to fix what was such an obvious problem for a lot of Windows 7 users.
Also, why would it take so long for the person who was trying to fix my computer remotely, to just install the rolled back version of the software. Believe me, he was all over my computer like a rash for about 30 minutes trying to figure out what was wrong. He eventually took advice from his supervisor, and that was when the rolled back version of the software was finally installed, and the problem was resolved.
Jürgen

Works for me on my Win7 laptop 😎
Thanks Jurgen,
3409 gives me a black screen...

which I guess is a kind of progress.

I'm now going to try 3408.

seems to be working - my TomTom appears to be updating.

Next, I'll try to install some maps.
Except.. "Our servers are very busy right now"
I'm currently downloading maps.

Thanks Jurgen.
Hello everything works well for me
thank you
You need to update visual c++. If you install visual from 2017 it wont work(uninstall it). you need the one from 2015. here is a link from Microsoft https:////https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=48145 . I had the same issues with win 7. After that reinstall the tomtom program and make the update. it will work.

Thank you.
With this version, it works all right!
Still, I would have thought Tomtom was a more serious company!!!!
I struggled most of the day yesterday trying to update my GPS. Could not get computer to connect to the GPS. Found the recommendation online to install version---4.2.0.3409. Works great - should have gone directly to forum and skipped FAQ.
I spent several hours (over 6) downloading updates for my 1535TM and then suffered a crash of the program. Downloads were complete and the message that my Drive Connect needed to be updated before I could continue. I took the time to do a clean installof MyDrive Connect before doing anything. The version that was loaded was 4.1.7.3376

I do not understand why the program loaded was so obviously an older version. This has caused me to waste several hours of my time, and my navigation device is still not current. Can I get some help here. I looked at the FAQ's and they indicated I reinstall MyDrive and start over. I cannot get MyDrive to update and it will no longer start as the message that api-ms-win-crt-runtime-1-1-0.dll is missing from my computer.😥

Download the FREEWARE version of Revo Uninstaller from here:
https://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html

Completely remove MyDriveConnect (or Home 3) from the computer.

Get a fresh copy at tomtom.com/getstarted. Install without the device connected to the computer. Then connect the device and see if things are better.
Thanks for response dhn. I finally worked through the problem. The 4.1.7.3376 would run but then would indicate that an update was required. When you started the update the server would provide 4.2.0.3409 and this update would fail. The final solution was to load version 4.1.8.3408 and this version would install and allow updates to install.

I don't know what's up with the 4.2.0.3409 but would recommend that the "automatic" upgrade not be used until TomTom corrects the issue. Use the 4.1.8.3408 and you should be OK. This version does not force an upgrade and seems to run fine. Link for the older version is above in Hallelujah's post. THANKS HALLELUJAH!!!👌

I spent a couple of hours this afternoon trying to sort out the crash of the obligatory update!
I recommend TomTom send out a pro-active e-mail to affected customers for known solutions to wide-spread issues.
This from TomTom:

The error for the dll error is due to a Windows component which is missing/corrupt on your computer's operating system (Windows 7/8/8.1). This is due to an outdated version of Windows on your computer and the Windows operating system has to be updated so that the component is installed via the Windows update. Alternatively, you can download the component directly from Microsoft support page at the link below.

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2999226/update-for-universal-c-runtime-in-windows

Also, you can switch back to the previous version v4.1.8 of MyDrive Connect from the link mentioned below.

Hope these posts help everyone having problems.
Confirm! MyDrive connect self updated to version 4.2.0.337 on Windows7 and now is not working any more.

I will cost lots of hours to remove, reinstall and that for this kind of software wi have to pay every yeasr money for live services ?
This is the fix i found,
First stop mydrive, then from windows logo click on computer>right click properties>
advance> environmental variables>on user variables click new.
then add variable name QT_OPENGL. And in variable value add angle. THEN NEW AND OK .
variable name QT_OPENGL
variablevalue. angle
Instant fix after hours of trying.

Hello all

Thank you for all the feedback and patience..

We have released a new v4.2.0.3430 of MyDrive Connect application today which will resolve the crashing bug.

The new version will be offered as a update to the existing version which is already installed or else you can download it here: http://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12428

Once downloaded please test it just to ensure that all works as expected. Let us know if you notice something unusual so I can report it back.

Thank you and regards
Vikram
None of those old software links work. The one above does, but the software still has runtime error on my system.

I do not want to update my PC so that I can run this software as its used for business and I cant run the risk of other programs having issues with an update.

Can you please post a link that works so that I may update my device or advise another method other than updating windows.

Kind regards
Hi VikramK very sorry but new version 4.2.0.3430 on my PC Windows 7 does not work. I have the follow message box:

Thanks for help
Just what is going on in TomTom land?, I have just done a fresh install of 'MyDrive' & all was fine until I am told it needs updating, Now all I get is a black screen & a message saying about trying to fix it, I have sat here so long waiting for something to happen that I have grown a beard & my backside has developed roots that have grown into the chair!, The link above that actually goes somewhere has achieved nothing either apart from yet another red box of gloom (you can imagine my delight with this), I am using Win7 pro if that helps anyone & really don't want to update it as I have had issues in the past after doing so, Just why they have to pee about with something that was working in the first place is beyond me,,,,As you can tell I am not impressed at the moment,
Windows 10 Pro updated, latest NVIDIA drivers

Hell, I can't even get the latest update. Using 4.1.6.3253 I get the "Required Update" message

It downloads C:\Users\\AppData\Local\TomTom\HOME3\Updates\InstallTomTomMyDriveConnect_4_2_0_3430.exe and when it 'runs' nothing happens. I tried moving it to different location and running manually. File properties do not show it as 'Blocked'

The environment workaround doesn't work
None of the download links work to get old versions work
And I can't even uninstall MyDrive from the PC;

The TT link http://uk.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/12428 downloads InstallTomTomMyDriveConnect.exe version 4.2.0.3430 (again) and running it from Downloads (even as Admin) does nothing: I get the "Do you want to allow this app... " I say Yes, and then the program just dies.

 1. TT needs to fix their update problem
 2. TT should have a 'nuke' program that complete removes all traces
Update / workaround

I opened an admin command window in C:\Program Files (x86)\MyDrive Connect\Resources\

Opened Notepad and edited application.ini to lie to the system about what the version was.

Started MyDrive and now it's happily downloading map and other updates
