    This new version (2.9.7) is described as

     

    This release adds support for the Uconnect 5 Radio Nav from the Fiat Group.


    I am left wondering why I get a pop-up describing this as critical update for me when I own neither a Unconnect Radio Nav nor a car from the Fix-It-Again-Toni Group. Perhaps a bit of hyperbole from TomTom support.

    Usually they don't include most of the actual fixes. Most probably "none of our business" :) But they never release an update to fix 1 thing...

    The install fails on my windows 8 machine with error 1723 dll required to install could not be run

    I am getting the same Error 1723.  I have done the complete uninstall but the error occurs right after I select the language on the install.

    I was unable to access the link above. 

     

    What worked for me was changing the steps that are suggested in the TomTom support instructions for uninstalling Home.

     

    They have step one as uninstall the software, and step two is to remove the files from; user...local and user...roaming. 

     

    I reversed these steps and it worked.  Remove the files before uninstalling.

     

    I talked to support and they said they are aware of the faulty instructions but have not changed the link yet.
