Computer Voice on GO 520


Hello,

I just bought the Go 520 in Spain as we are living there.

We can choose for 3 or 4 computer voices but not in English. As we are a mixed couple French and Italian, we want to use our device with a computer voice in English.

How do we get that?

I can also assign the voice for you but you need to register your device to your TomTom account first. Please, go to tomtom.com/getstarted for instructions on how to do that.

Let me know when you've done that and I assign the voice for you 😃

Call support to add an English computer voice to your account. Agents should be able to speak English:

Hi There. I just purchased a GO 520 WiFi in Switzerland. I am English and expected to have the English computer voice available. But I have no computer voices installed. How can I get these? I have registered my product.

Try German support Monday to add the voice to your account. They should be able to speak English:

I've assigned the Serena and Malcolm UK English computer voices for you and you can now install them from the Updates and New Items menu. Unfortunately, we don't have US English computer voices for the GO Wi-Fi®️ devices yet until the devices are released in the US.

I've assigned the Serena and Malcolm UK English computer voices for you and you can now install them from the Updates and New Items menu. Unfortunately, we don't have Indonesian computer voices. You can find the available recorded voices at tomtom.com/voices.

Hi Mikko,

I am Portuguese living in France and since i bougth the GO 520 in france the Computer voice is in French and since i don't fully understand french i'm wondering if you could add the Portuguese computer voice to my unit, that is also avaiable on the Start 40?

I have replaced my old Uk bought tom-tom with a new GO 520 but I live in France so the new one doesn't fully support English. I see that voices can be assigned to facilitate this, but I'm not clear on how to do this....can anyone help?

Oh no I'm not! I only have (for English) Jane and Tim who cannot read street names etc. I think I need a computer voice (Serena or Malcom seem to be mentioned elsewhere) to be fully functional. Can these be assigned to me please?
Hi TomTom support people. I have a UK GO 520 but it only has Serena, Jane and Tim UK voices. That means no Malcom computer voice so no male voice that can read street names. This seems strange since mine was bought from Halfords in the UK.

Could you enable the Malcom UK English computer voice for me please?

Yes indeed...but you can see the support hours are when normal folk are working so its' not a conveneient support and when you get your expensive map you do want it to work as soon as possible, don't you? And besides...some people on this forum want to be helpful, and as they clearly can assign new voices, why would they not be helpful and do that? Not sure what you're in the vanguard or the paragon of, but....

User dhn is like most of the rest of us users on the Forum, we post to help other users

There are two ways to obtain the Computer Voices....
(1).... Via Tomtom Support... where user dhn helpfully provided the Phone number for User AndyCalling to call Tomtom User Support GB

(2)... The Tomtom Staff/Moderators, can and do monitor requests and allocate computer voices to download
