Hello,

I just bought the Go 520 in Spain as we are living there.

We can choose for 3 or 4 computer voices but not in English. As we are a mixed couple French and Italian, we want to use our device with a computer voice in English.

How do we get that?

Hi Julien,

Welcome to the Community!

I can also assign the voice for you but you need to register your device to your TomTom account first. Please, go to tomtom.com/getstarted for instructions on how to do that.

Let me know when you've done that and I assign the voice for you :D

    to YamFazman - thank you for your helpful comments regarding this forum's operational protocols.

    Nevertheless, I am still not able to fully use the new TomTom that I had to buy as TomTom no longer support the device I already had, which for me is a serious failure to deliver what is promised in all the advertising TomTom produces - in the 21stC to have to use a telephone to update a digital device is a nonsense: why are these 'computer voices' not just available on-line?

    You can, of course, Email Tomtom Support.....
    Scroll to the bottom of this page
    Under Support -> Click on Contact Us.....
    Follow on screen instructions... To Email Us

    The NAV(5 Wifi) devices are different to the previous NAV4 Devices the NAV4 devices now have access to voice files using the MyDrive Connect Menus
    The NAV4 Devices can now update install/delete voices using MyDrive Connect (Even so, sometimes Tomtom still have to allocate NAV4 Devices with specific voices)
    ________________________________________________

    The Nav(5 Wifi) devices have all of the Updates, Voices, Maps... etc installed using the Setting menus on the device.....
    Tap (.... Menu) -> Settings -> Updates & New Items
    Tap (.... Menu) -> Settings -> Maps... to install/delete maps
    Tap (.... Menu) -> Settings -> Voices... to change the voice, If the voice is not available in the list, Tomtom support or the Forum support have to allocate the voice to your account
    (Also try scrolling up as well as down the list of installed voices, sometimes there are voices above the selected voice)

    'Serena' voice has been assigned before and you have already installed it on your device. Now I have added the 'Malcolm' voice which you should be able to download when your device connects to the internet over the Wi-Fi.

    In case the voice is not listed after the installation then that query can be better addressed by the customer service as they will be able to investigate it further.

    I have assigned both Malcom and Serena voice on your account. Please download it on your GO 520 when its connected to the internet.

    For similar requests in future please contact customer service and they should be able to help you with this:)

    'Malcom'? That's a new one to me. The only other English computer voice I have heard of is 'Daniel'; still in the 'works' when it comes to NAV 3.
