The latest version of the software stated that there was now the facility for custom POIs. I have never seen any POI facility on this model and still can not find any info on where it is and how to load new custom POIs.

You load custom pois using MyDrive. See the following video at the 2 min 10 sec mark:

Then make sure you have the latest 17.1 application on the device.

Do a reset of the device by holding the power button about 15 seconds till you hear the drum sounds.

Then go to Menu-->Settings-->Appearance and you should see the option to show the pois on the map.

I have tried to reply to your kind information and apologise that for some reason they do not seem to be accepted. I will repeat what I have previously tried to post.

Thank you for your information for which I am grateful.

I don't think that I originally expressed my problem very well. What I want to do is to load onto the Go 6000 the POIs that I already collected and are currently on my Go 710. I also want to reload such POI lists as the Logis de France Hotel locations.
Hi again

I have just followed your instruction regarding reset. Unfortunately there is no Display POIs on Map option. I am using V17.100.0022.311 (0) 02/04/2017. and installed the latest version on My Drive. Before this option is shown does the device need to have some POIs already loaded which brings me back to my original problem. The old G710 was so easy but this Linux based software is a PIA.

Hi

Firstly the "Content Transfer Assistant" does not work, it goes through all the motions, but the files do not get transferred across to an NAV4 device

The "Content Transfer Assistant" is replaced by this FAQ.....
Transferring POIs etc from one navigation device to another

EDIT... The GO 710 is a NAV2 Device... MyDrive connect is for NAV3 and Above

Then Use the Instructions in the Video from user dhn above to install the items onto your GO 6000

Many thanks for your reply. I think I am half way there. I was confusing My Drive with My Drive Connect so now having logged in to My Drive I see where the POI facility is. I now need to study your info ore closely and will try and implement the info and get back.
OK I have looked at the info you posted and checked how to transfer POIs from Go 710 to Go6000. I am currently away from homes so don't have the Go 710 with me. Where can I get to the old library of TomTom POIs that I used to download the POIs from originally.

There are many sources on the internet for poi files, alan. Here are some:

http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/tomtompoi.php

Thanks. I found them. I specifically was hoping to be able to download the POIs that were included on the 710 as I found it very easy to use whilst abroad to find local POIs of specific types ie "Historical Sites" close to my location. I guess this is probably not going to be available. This is another reason I am disappointed with this new Linux software compared to the previous Windows software. It is just not as flexible or comprehensive and updates that took 2 mins before now tale 30 minutes.
