'How can I tell if the battery is completely shot before I throw this Go 60 in the garbage? The unit is 2 years old and has not been used frequently.'.

Try connecting to the computer for 2-3 hours (device can be off) and then see if it activates.

I've had it connected to the computer all day (12 hours). A Tom Tom logo will come on now when I press the button followed by a red outline of an empty battery. I'm pretty sure the battery is no longer any good. Since it's not replaceable I guess it's going in the trash. This is my last TomTom for sure.

Have you tried turning the device on while it is actually being charged? If it doesn’t start up, perhaps you should try using another lead before replacing the battery or abandoning the device.
